I’ve known Alex and Jansen for several years and I was super excited when they asked me to be the photographer for their wedding this fall! They are truly in love and so easy to photograph. For their engagement pictures, we headed down to Crystal Cove State beach. I wanted to do beach shots but also mix it up with some field/natural looking backgrounds and it proved to be the perfect location for both. I wasn’t too happy about losing my wallet just an hour earlier but that all went away as we started shooting. We slowly made our way down to the beach and got some super fun photographs. Here are a few of my favorite pictures:
I had the privilege of shooting my Uncles wedding a couple weekends ago. Austin and Nao first met a few years ago when she to visit Southern California from Japan. They developed a relationship and kept in touch every day and Skyped as much as possible. Austin flew out there to meet her family and travel around the country and she then came out here shortly after. Last summer, Austin popped the big question at one of Nao’s favorite places, Disneyland! She moved out here a couple weeks before the wedding and her family came out soon after to celebrate their big day. It was a bit cold and windy, being January, but we got some fun portraits in and had a fun night filled with family and friends. They had their reception in Apple Valley, California. Here are some of my photographs from the wedding day:

Aimee and Luis had their wedding in the middle of December which can be tough to plan because there’s always the threat of rain. This year, however, has been extraodinarily warm and dry and their special day was perfect! I photographed the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready at Hair Addix Salon in Oceanside before we went over to the reception site. They chose a cozy and beautiful historical site, the Rancho Guajome Adobe in Vista, California. There were so many amazing spots to take pictures…it was overwhelming! The standing-room only ceremony was perfect and we did some fun portraits in the old Adobe buildings. The reception took place at a private residence with a big tent setup in the backyard where the newlyweds danced the night away with family and friends with DJ Scotty B pumping out some good music. Here are a few of my favorite photographs of the day:
This was a very fun shoot! I don’t like photographing family photos where everyone gets in their favorite blue jeans and white t shirt and sits on the beach with a fake smile. Thats just not what a family really is to me. I love being able to capture the natural emotions and interactions that the family members have on a daily basis. And this session was exactly that. A family and lifestyle shoot in one. I met the Wileys in San Juan Capistrano and we cruised around the Los Rio Street Historic District. The place was buzzing with shutter clicks as hordes of photographers roamed through shooting their own engagement/family/whoknowswhat sessions. The last family session I did was this same location so I went to the spots that I liked and explored some new ones. It started to rain on us, which scared all the other photographers away. But not us! We had the place to ourselves and got some fun playful images of this awesome family! Here are some of my favorites:
Paul and Tiffany’s wedding was simple and beautiful. I met them at the LDS Temple in Newport beach shortly after their ceremony and we started off with taking group pictures. We then did some awesome portraits around the area which was an incredibly photogenic location! Paul and Tiffany actually met at a wedding at this very temple several years ago. It was cold and windy but they were awesome to work with as Jordan Burke and I ran around getting all the photographs we wanted. They then had a reception at the Ole Hansen Beach Club in San Clemente with some good food and dancing with friends and family. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day:
