Kyle and Raelynn {Proposal}

I was so excited when Kyle first called me to set this shoot up! He told me his plan of how he was going to propose to his girlfriend the next weekend and wanted me there to document it. This was my first time doing this so I was antsy for Saturday. Around early afternoon on an perfectly sunny day in Carlsbad, our plan fell into place perfectly. He and his girlfriend Raelynn were walking up the beach when I snuck down and cleared out an area sand for them. As they walked back, I was in disguies about 100 feet away reading a magazine and had my telephoto ready. Kyle got on one knee and popped out the black box he had rubber banded to his leg! He asked her to marry him and Rae said “of course!” and the hugged and kissed. We then had a mini portrait session and their love and excitement was so easy to photograph! Here are some photographs from the proposal photoshoot:

Kaleigh and AJ {Married}

When I first met AJ and Kaleigh at their venue a couple months before their wedding, I was overwhelmed with excitement! The place was incredible! Rancho Las Lomas is a spectacular private home and zoological garden tucked away in the foothills of Orange County. There were so many amazing opportunities to do portraits with the bride and groom that I had to leave a lot of ideas out. The couple was amazing to work with and very photogenic. I met with the bride at an estate where she and her 9!!! bridesmaids were getting ready. The bridesmaids dresses were all homemade at they were even still finishing the cuts that very morning. We soon made our way to the wedding venue at met with the guys (my assistant was with them all morning) and we did some family portraits before the ceremony. Everything went perfect all night and I came away with a lot of spectacular shots. Here are my favorites:

Alex and Jansen {Engaged}

I’ve known Alex and Jansen for several years and I was super excited when they asked me to be the photographer for their wedding this fall! They are truly in love and so easy to photograph. For their engagement pictures, we headed down to Crystal Cove State beach. I wanted to do beach shots but also mix it up with some field/natural looking backgrounds and it proved to be the perfect location for both. I wasn’t too happy about losing my wallet just an hour earlier but that all went away as we started shooting. We slowly made our way down to the beach and got some super fun photographs. Here are a few of my favorite pictures:

Austin and Nao {Married}

I had the privilege of shooting my Uncles wedding a couple weekends ago. Austin and Nao first met a few years ago when she to visit Southern California from Japan. They developed a relationship and kept in touch every day and Skyped as much as possible. Austin flew out there to meet her family and travel around the country and she then came out here shortly after. Last summer, Austin popped the big question at one of Nao’s favorite places, Disneyland! She moved out here a couple weeks before the wedding and her family came out soon after to celebrate their big day. It was a bit cold and windy, being January, but we got some fun portraits in and had a fun night filled with family and friends.  They had their reception in Apple Valley, California.  Here are some of my photographs from the wedding day:
