There was only one answer possible when my cousin Marian asked if I would photograph her wedding in Big Sur. Absolutely! Big Sur is one of my favorite places in California and to be able to photograph a wedding there would be incredible . There has been a lot of landslides and road issues up there so getting to the campground where everyone was staying took a bit more effort than normal. But since the main highway was closed in many areas, the crowds were minimal and the roads mostly empty. Big Sur is notorious for its onshore wind and relentless marine layer, but on Marian’s wedding day it was absolutely perfect. Not a breath of wind and it was actually a bit hot. She had a small, intimate ceremony on a bluff above the glistening Pacific Ocean and it instantly became one of the most picturesque weddings I’ve ever seen. We had an amazing portrait shoot after the wedding and ended the night at a local restaurant with family and friends. Here are some of my favorite photographs from this beautiful Big Sur wedding:
